The Great Hollywood Hangover. Life on the Strip back in the sixties...

The Cosmic Egg Farm episode 006. Lee Crisman interviews Nancy Deedrick about Life on ths Sunset Strip in the sixties and seventies. Nancy talks about the music scene (the Whiskey Go Go, The Roxy, The London Fog and more), along with her experience of being a young go-go dancer on the strip. It's a cool interview from a lady who lived it... She met Morrison, prior to his fame, she hung out with the likes of Leon Russell, Joe Cocker, and many noted musicians on the raise at that time. We present the interview in its entirety here at Pluto Radio Music Cafe. Enjoy!

Nancy's blog is critical to an understanding of just what that seminal time in the Youth Culture was like...this interview kinda left me sad...she has inferred in her blog that, for her, the Real Hangover took place in the 70s, when the essence of that 60s vibe dissipated. Nancy btw, died in 2016, age 70, from cancer...she had a long bout with drugs and alcohol...you can hear this in her tone of voice...but there still is a spirit of self-confidence in listening to her...Whoa, she was so beautiful back then, and retained a lot of her looks in later life...She was who she was, just a spirited young gal from the MidWest, who somehow knew that good times were to be had in Hollywood...she, along with stories from her friends who stayed in touch, illuminate that overly glorified episode of my generation..the Boomers!
