Hi,
For
a number of years Black Angel has the privilege of working with Lois
Mahalia (previous name Lois Minato) on six albums. Lois sang lead and
back-up vocals and also performed a lot of duets with J. C. Martin.
Lois is a beautiful, extremely talented and soulful woman who was great
to work with.
Since her Black Angel days, Lois
has toured as a back-up singer with Joe Walsh and has had albums
produced for her by Kenny Loggins. Lois has had songs like "Smile"
that have had over a million plays on Youtube. Lois is basically a
jazz and gospel singer but she sang a lot of rock 'n' roll with Black
Angel.
One of my favorite songs that I wrote
and Lois sang was a song called "Life Just Ran Over Me". Seeing Lois
sing this song in the studio was a site to see. Her family was
originally from British Guiana in South America. Her African, soulful
roots can be felt in her singing. Check out this lovely woman
performing this song with the excellent musicians in Black Angel.
